I'm John Bachelor, Gordon Chang at Gordon G. Chang, my colleague and co-host and friend for many decades

joins me because we're headed to Asia and a report in the Financial Times, that's London,

about the Asian economies, not just China, but all the trading partners. The headline,

Asia's economic pain deepens as Iran War drags on.

Subhead, sharp rise in inflation is hitting growth outlook for region heavily dependent on imported energy.

We welcome our colleague on trade and manufacturing for many years, our guru, Alan Tonnelson, who blogs at reality check, Alan, these all champion exporters,

importers, manufacturers of the Asian economies. Once upon a time, they were called the

Taggers, but there's too many of them. They're all damaged by these projections of the Asian Development Bank,

which just a month ago was extremely positive about 27. Now the downgrade is uniform.

One in particular, Japan cut in half for 27, from 1% growth to 0.5. And I know that Takigius and I, the new prime minister, is alarmed and looking for ways

around this gloomy projection.

Your measure of these economies, what is the connection to the American economy?

What is the connection to the American growth? What is the connection to the American growth

story? Good evening to you. Hi, John, and hi, Gordon. I'd like to make two points here.

First of all, there's no doubt that the Asian economies, these export-oriented Asian economies

are being stressed quite significantly by the U.S. and

Israeli attacks on Iran. There's no doubt that their energy prices and their inflation rates

have been going way up. What I think they need to ask themselves if they're going to be protesting these U.S. policies

is what would their energy look like if Iran had been permitted to continue developing nuclear

weapons and to continue developing nuclear weapons

and to continue developing long-range conventional missiles.

And in fact, of course, lots of those could be eventually tipped with nuclear weapons.
