I believe I've attended more than one at the wall, Malcolm. What happens on Memorial Day in Israel?

Well, first, first of it's good to be, Bill, with both of you.

Today is a very sad day.

Actually, it has just ended in Israel because it's nightfall.

And this day was marked first by a nationwide moment of silence where a siren is sounded,

and the whole country literally comes to a dead stop,

car stop wherever they are, train stop where they are.

Nothing moves for that two-minute siren.

It was the same thing last week when it was Holocaust Memorial Day.

There's only two times in the year.

Unfortunately, they've had a lot of sirens during the past year, but this is a nationwide

commemoration. It marks the almost 27,000 people who died in the defense of Israel, soldiers,

plus you had victims of terror and many others who died in the defense of Israel. A small country with a large number of victims

and people go to the cemeteries today. They visit them. The prime minister certainly visited his

brothers and many others go to the cemeteries and put flags and flowers. And tonight at the dark began Israel Independence Day when they have the lighting of the

torches at Mount Herzl where the memorial is.

It's a beautiful setting.

And amongst the lightest this time will be the president of Argentina as well as representatives of the families of those who were killed during the war

and especially on October 7th something people don't forget and should never be forgotten
