This is John Batchel, a conversation about Boucher, the nuclear power reactor in Iran, built over many years by many hands, not the least being the United States.

However, Boucher is a concern because its spent rods are capable of being turned into plutonium.

why that was not keen on negotiating what happens to spent rods from Boucher

and what can happen in the new negotiation

pending all the other negotiations to get to the suspect nuclear weapons program of Iran.

The original goal, we're told.

Boucher is a nuclear power station.

But every nuclear power station, if I understand it,

has the potential of creating the material for bomb making.

I'd like to think the talk has just begun, but no, I don't think they're there yet,

and I hope that they will, because this is a moment where we're negotiating with the Iranians.

You know, this is not going to come by another time real soon.

You need to take advantage.

The last time we brought this issue,

arose was the nuclear deal Obama had. And at that time, it was pointed out to him privately

by a congressman. I know because I briefed the congressman that, hey, we ought to make sure that there's a different kind of surveillance standard over the spent field of the Shear.

The president blew him off because, well, the deal was done. It was too late. Whatever.

We should not make that mistake again.
