I welcome my colleague and friend Peter Berkowitz, the Hoover Institution, writing his column at Real Clear Clear Politics about a struggle to understand what's

happened with regard to the state of Israel. Israel founded on the basis of a refuge for people

who had been badly used by the powers of Europe for many centuries. Israel standing for itself

in a region that quite illogically condemned someone

bringing European business practices and promise to the land that is left untended for centuries.

I've been in Israel enough to know that without water, there is no place to live

there. You just keep moving. However, today it is an agricultural paradise. It's also the center

of startups around the world. It is extremely entrepreneur-like and lends a hand to any nation around it that wants to participate, including Saudi Arabia.

However, the American Academy, and perhaps European, but I'll speak to the American Academy, I observed from Peter Berkowitz's column,

conjoined with its allies in the editorial pages, have made a shift these last months that I've

puzzled about. And here it is. Israel, defending itself from attacks directed by Iran, has become

the villain in the peace. How this happened and why this happened is of great interest because it's about the academy,

educated men and women, people who have full information, can get more.

There's the problem, Peter.
