a new book about Chinese espionage, sabotage, theft, plain old

larceny in the American and allied markets, and Jack Burner, my research analyst at the China

program to give me understanding of the scale of this. I want to mention, David, a recent article

that Jack and I talked about on air,

smugglers, alleged smuggling, yes. Chinese firms, Chinese nationals in this country were buying

legitimate products and shipping them to overseas, to Singapore is my memory, but all of Southeast Asia.

And then what happened next is the allegation.

Is this, Jack, an example of you, what you say they just rip it out and send it,

or was it more sophisticated than that?

I think this is a case in which what you're seeing here is effectively a dual-use network,

particularly for AI technologies.
