I'm John Batchel. Michael Bernstein at the Hoover Institution has been my guide on sanctions against the

Russian government for its aggression against Ukraine for several years now. We've been watching this

weekly. And now I tell a story that it surprises me. Germany, elections in a state called

the palatinate, Rhineland Palatinate, understood as a conservative

and beautiful part of Germany. The elections here to four have been shared between the Christian

Democratic Union and the CDU, now the leading party of seats in the Bundestag, and the SPD, the

socialist progressives who are in coalition with the

CDU. Herefore, they've dominated the election, a conservative part of Germany. But in the most

recent state election, all of a sudden, SPD is falling back. CDU gained a few seats, but the big

surprise was the rise of AFD, alternative for

Deutschland. Not only was that a surprise, but soon enough after that, major figures in the

AFD announced that when they're in control, which could be as early as the next election cycle

or before, when they're in control, America out of Germany.

I don't mean just simply leave. I mean, Ramstein, go home. This conjoins with news we've had these last

days that Spain never did participate in any fashion allowing the U.S. to use its airfields or as

bases in the Iran War.

Italy just denied American aircraft landing rights in Sicily. France has also refused to

participate by allowing warplanes or other activities on its territory. Britain is a mixed record,

but right now what you can say,

that there are no British ships in the Gulf aiding in any fashion.

There is one in the Mediterranean to protect a Cyprus base,

but not to participate in the Iran War.
