I'm John Batchel with Rick Fisher, who brings me news of NASA ignition, re-igniting.

The drift from the 20th century was obvious to everyone who looked at the program,

0:27.8

chiefly because we've been watching SpaceX's triumphs these last years,

0:32.6

launch after launch of boosters, reusing them, cutting down the cost of getting to Earth orbit, and certainly

0:38.8

you need to cut down the cost to get to Earth Moon system. And that's what Rick is presenting here

0:43.8

from Jared Isaacman and NASA announced to the media. The date of 28, 2029 is material to

0:52.9

the Trump administration, but this is far beyond one president,

1:58.4

congressional districts. If Isickman succeeds in getting this program

2:05.5

rolling as quickly as he has to, it is going to have a momentum. And at least politically,

2:14.1

it's going to be very hard to stop. It's going to be almost impossible for, let's say, an Obama-like president to come in and

2:23.4

cancel this program as Obama actually did in 2010.

2:28.6

China.

2:29.3

China has a program to get to the moon.

2:31.0

China has a program to put people on the moon.

2:32.9

I don't know about their plans to have a permanent settlement. Do they talk that way, right?

2:37.0

Absolutely. They want multiple settlements, permanent settlements. They have a plan and a
