I'm John Batchel, Victor Orban, the very dominating leadership in Hungary and the United States.

All these do not go naturally together because Victor Orban has been a dissenter in European Union and NATO affairs for some time,

and the United States has been committed through several administrations to opposing the aggression

of the Russian Federation against Europe and especially against Ukraine.

Now, however, I welcome Ivana Stradner of the Foundation for Defense of Democracy to help me

understand headlines that seem contradictory.

For example, bombscares fuel Victor Orban's anti-Ukraine election campaign.

These are events in Hungary leading to the April 12th vote that suggests a false flag operation

or something that it undermines the authority of those who are opposing Victor Urbun extending his rule.

And then we have this.

Marco Rubio says Victor Orbán's leadership is essential, quote, to U.S. interest.

There's a photograph of the Secretary of State shaking hands with Victor Orban.

And then this, Orban draws U.S. support ahead of Hungary's election,

not just Marco Rubio, but the Trump administration. Avana, that's enough. The puzzle about

Viktor Orban is that he has been in power forever. I remember him as a long-haired youth in the Soviet

days making speeches at the center of the country

about how we must throw off the yoke of the Soviet masters. That was then. This is now.

Who is Victor Orban that he would attract the attention of the Secretary of State directly after

the Munich conference? Good evening to you.
