I'm John Batchel with my colleague and friend Gregory Copley of Defense and Foreign Affairs,

the author of the new book, Noble State, recommending the constitutional monarchy that describes

the United Kingdom since the, well, let's say the 18th century. However, there are disruptions

in the serenity of constitutional monarchy.

It can be you have a prime minister who is not living up to his remarks.

It can be war.

And in this instance, it's very difficult to characterize it other than the fact

that a member of the royal family, a critical member, the brother, the younger

brother of the king, Andrew, is a bad actor.

There's no general way to describe it other than the simple fact.

His conduct, as revealed by the serial revelations in what are called the Epstein papers,

is that not of a prince of the land or a man who was born to privilege,

but that of, I don't want to characterize it with the wrong metaphor, bad actor.

Gregory, we've not talked about this because so much of the royal family is scandal news in Britain.

I understand how the press works.

But this Epstein matter now involves matters of state.

There is the allegation that a man named Mandelson who was appointed to be

the ambassador from the United Kingdom to the United States by Kier Starrmer most recently.

He is involved in conduct that's completely unacceptable with regard to Epstein and his exploitation of young people.

And he's now faced with answering questions by the U.S. Congress and possible prosecution

because of revelation that he passed a confidential paper on to Epstein in some fashion during his time in government.

I believe he's a member of Parliament or member of the House of Lords.
