This is John Batscher, speaking with John Hardy, Ukraine conflict. John's with the FD. The Russians

continued to make war on the infrastructure, taking out heating and lighting in major cities,

especially at Keef, in the middle of a very bitter, very, very bitter winter, worst of the war so far, the Ukrainians are without heat in their

towers and buildings in Kiev. The children are without heat. At the same time, the Ukrainians

launched drones against the Russian infrastructure. What is to be done? Perhaps in negotiation.

John explains.

The Greenian Deep Strike campaign in Russian territory really picked up, it's been a thing for a while now, but it really picked up in mid-2020-so.

And the focus has been on Russian energy infrastructure, things like oil refineries and whatnot.

I'd say that defense industrial sites are more secondary focus, but you do occasionally see them struck as well.

I think it's done some damage to the Russians.

There is, however, talk of potential reviving of the failed energy truce that we had earlier in the war, earlier in Trump's second term in office, that ultimately failed.

But perhaps it could be revived as kind of a bid for de-escalation and confidence-building measures on kind of the

path toward a broader deal.
