for the Foundation for Defense of Democracy, about the policy over several presidents, not just one,

towards the jihadists, both in Eurasia and in Africa. What is to be done? Here, Bill sums it up.

Discouraging, but facts are a good place to start.

It's our policy is a mess.

The Western policy is an absolute mess.

You have a jihadist safe haven in Afghanistan.

We've discussed this in depth for years.

Syria, we essentially ceded Syria, not only just seated it, but handed it over to al-Qaeda's former head.

I have reservations calling him former.

He never denounced his oath of allegiance or by it to al-Qaeda's top leader.

His name is Ahmed al-Shara, and, you know, President Trump has visited him and has

complimented him.

They're on a rampage in Syria now against our former allies, the YPG or the Kurdish,

what used to be the Kurdistan Workers Party, which is also a designated terrorist group,

but that's a whole other issue.

So you have two safe havens for jihadists that are states in Afghanistan and Syria.

Afghanistan, I'm sorry, Africa is an absolute mess.

With the coups and the collapsing governments, the jihadists are on the rampage in Somalia,

the Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, I could go on and on. But we've, we've ceded the fight to the jihadists,

and we've come to the, we have this idea that, well, Al-Qaeda terrorists are someone we could
