| 0:55.8 | And they would all be different colors and different religions and from different locations in the world. You put them in a pot, |
| 1:00.2 | you mix them all up. And what would emerge was a new person on the planet, an American. And that |
| 1:05.9 | American would be of any race, it'd be of any religion, although predominantly that even though the country |
| 1:12.5 | was founded by white males from the Anglo-Saxon world, they created a system that pretty much |
| 1:19.7 | put themselves out of business, and by intent, they never intended that everybody in America |
| 1:24.1 | would come from England. The very purpose of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution |
| 1:30.3 | and much of the Federalist papers was to create this utopia of freedom and equality, |
| 1:36.3 | which the ultimate logic would be that everybody in the world wanted to come. |
| 1:41.3 | And so that was what the melting pot was. |
| 1:43.3 | And of course, any time one particular tribal group starts something, |
| 1:48.4 | human nature what it is, they tend to be exclusive, |
| 1:51.5 | and then they break down as more people who are not like them come. |
