Gavin Newsom is the twice-elected three-times endorsed governor of California,

a very handsome man with a beautiful family, an ambition.

And the ambition is to be president in 28.

The blows to his performance are everywhere.

We won't elaborate on them. The deficit, the

evidence of fraud, the homeless in Los Angeles, the closing down of the center of San Francisco.

We could go on. Copper theft in Sacramento. But he's on the campaign trail, and he's doing very well to my measure,

because whenever Mr. Trump says something unusually creatively unacceptable,

Gavin Newsom matches him.

It's like I'll get down in the mud with you guy,

and it's impressive because there's no other Democratic,

likely contender at that game. And we can anticipate it will continue through the nomination

process of 28, no matter who the next choice for the Republicans are. How is that received at home

in California, Jeff?

Well, it's kind of typical of the American political landscape these days. You either are with

Trump or you're not. And if you're not with Trump, then you're probably going to say, yeah,

whatever Gavin says or whatever anybody says, Jimmy Kimmel on TV, or you name it, you're with them

at that moment. And so, you know, very sharply divided political camps. And in California,

which is a, you know, a blue state, a bluest of the blue, you don't hear a lot of people

other than the people on the right side of the aisle complaining about him.

But, you know, it's interesting this past week in Davos, you didn't hear very many people on the left side of the aisle, and there are quite a few, like I said, you didn't hear many
