Trump administration plans to promote loyal diplomats after recall of 30 ambassadors,

according to sources. That's the Guardian. In Washington, Trump administration abruptly recalls

over two dozen career ambassadors. That's the Washington Post. And the New York Times. Trump

administration orders nearly 30 U.S. ambassadors to leave their posts.

The use of very careful choices of verbs tells the story of the politics of the moment.

However, I need to learn about how it works at the State Department, so I welcome my good colleague,

Mary Kissel, Executive Vice President Stevens Incorporated now,

but traveling with the Secretary of State, a senior advisor, Mr. Pompeo, for several years.

So the intricacies of ambassadorship.

As I understand it, there are ambassadors and there are ambassadors.

The big embassies, the ones that are associated with American past, Paris, London,

they usually receive an ambassador who is a major contributor to the president,

either monetarily or politically at some point.

All the other embassies are for career state department employees.

Have I said all that correctly?

And these 30 ambassadors, is this something that's never happened before at once?
