This is John Batchelor. Bill Raggio, my colleague, keeping the Long War Journal for two and a half decades now,

measures what's happened since the War on Terror turned into a back-page story in the newspapers

and how these last days were very much in keeping with what Bill has been reporting on for 25 years,

but no longer gained the attention of national leadership.

Why not?

There were other matters to attend to, such as elections and wars in Europe,

and the American economy and the global economy in China. But still, Al-Qaeda

and ISIS and the other attended groups, you might not be interested in them. You know how

that goes. Here Bill explains what he observes it's been happening, even in the professional levels,

these last years.

And now, will we turn to attention again?

We've refused to deal with the issue of the radical ideology that spawned al-Qaeda,

the Islamic State, the Muslim Brotherhood, all of these groups.

Hussein and I have hammered home this theme for the past two decades and our political

leadership here in the United States and in the West and in countries that actually

that could deal with this far more easily than we could in the Middle

East, in Pakistan, in Afghanistan, we've all failed. And I see no effort to address this issue. All I see

is finger pointing and efforts to basically disconnect the dots and just say this is a

radical gunman or gun men in the case of the Bondi shooting and the political finger pointing.

You know, now there's a big debate in in Australia.
