This is CBSI in the world. I'm John Batchel with my resident Englishman, Simon Constable,

of the Wall Street Journal and Barron's other distinguished publications, living in the

South of France, clever fellow. All Englishmen want to live in the south of France. That's in their

dream book. However, right now, a lot of

Englishmen and English ladies and their children are living with a labor government that confounds

me, Simon. I need help here. You grew up amongst labor and Tories, and that was an argument

that carried on from eternity, and it will continue to eternity.

And yet I'm unfamiliar with how the burden of being enormously in the majority,

which apparently is what labor is struggling with.

The most recent episode is not just a challenge to Kier Starrmer,

who has a 165 member majority.

He can do anything he wants. If he wanted to declare

Tuesday as Wednesday, they'd go along with him, I thought. But now it turns out that they're

interviewing his replacement. His approval rating is low. I think it's about the temperature

here in New England. Very low. I think you're right there.

It is just double digits and in the low end of things.

Yes, and they're entertaining replacements.

Now, I thought that there were some good ideas

either to the left or the center,

especially I'm attracted to the center of the Labor Party,

because it begins to resemble something

that would compromise in the matter of climate and trade and certainly national defense

...
