You will recall that reptiles are protected creatures in Australia, no matter the provocation.

We're in Canberra now.

That's the capital zone.

It's neither New South Wales nor Victoria, somewhere in between.

And I cannot remember a home invasion

story from Canberra quite like this, or at all. It was almost as if Canberra didn't have

snakes. Jeremy, what's happened? Well, John, the unthinkable has happened down in our nation's

capital. A home in Canberra has been invaded by a great eastern brown snake. And just to remind you what a great eastern brown snake is, you think of a normal brown snake, which scary is itself. It is a very venomous creature. It's around about maybe five foot long, and it will try and attack you if it feels it needs to well a great eastern brown

snake is exactly the same except a lot more aggressive and has quite a thicker body and quite a

quicker reaction time and it wants to strike so this is a very very dangerous snake something you want

to give a wide berth if you see it outside anywhere say in your garden or in the bushland
