And the difference being is I'm not joined by the idiocy of the crass remarks of a certain Archie Curzon.

No, because this is a little special which we're hopefully going to bring out weekly or bi-weekly

on a Monday, where I get to sit down with people who have some of the most incredible stories

to tell, who would be insulted by the, you know,

ridiculous remarks and input which Archie Curzon sometimes comes up with.

So today we're joined by a man called Patrick Foster who's just released a book called Might Bite, in which he tells the stories and struggles he's inflicted over the last 12 years, where he developed a gambling habit which cost him over 4 million pounds worth of stolen money and almost cost him his life. I started out by asking him

his highlights when he used to play cricket for England and under 19s and how everything turns

so sour. So India under 19s were on tour. I got called up to play them in warm-ups.

Firak Coley happened to be in the team that I was playing against and obviously at the time I knew he was a good player because he whacked me everywhere but what he's gone on to achieve is something else in terms of who was playing in our side it was people like

Mo and Ali Adil Rashid who've obviously gone on to have amazing careers

can you tell us about the first time because I remember it I say fondly not really

fondly at all but the first time which I went into a bedding shop I'm a couple

years younger than you but I remember apps not really coming into my bedding

life until I you know five six years into bedding could you tell us about the first time you sort of walked into a bookies and placed a bit?

Yeah, I've never been into one before and they're obviously strange places but straight away I got this kind of real rush and buzz just from

being in there let alone placing a bet there was sport all over the TV's which

for me was kind of very attractive and because it was a Saturday as well I guess which is when a lot of people do

Maybe gamble more than they do on other days. It was yeah, it was it was really exciting and I thought you know what there's loads going on here and I want to know a bit more about this and of course

when I was in there that first time I was kind of observing watching people was thinking what they're doing trying to work out what was going

on really and what was the first bet you place was it on on on sport was it on the

fixed odd machines yeah it was on a fixed odds betting terminal I put a 2 pound coin in there that I had left over from the night before.
