Good morning, everyone. Pints with Jack is your favourite weekly C.S. Lewis podcast, where Andrew, Matt and I break down and discuss the works of C.S. Lewis. This season, we've worked

our way through The Four Loves. Last month was ecumenism month. And we're now wrapping up

Apologetics Month, where we've been examining some of

Lewis's favourite apologetic arguments. And today we're not going to examine a particular argument.

Instead, we're going to talk about something a little different, imaginative apologetics.

And that's why you heard the quotation at the beginning of this episode from Lewis's

fantastically titled essay,

Bluss Bells and Flanspheres. And our guide to this subject is a former guest to the show,

Dr. Holly Ordway. Dr. Holly Ordway is the Cardinal Francis George Fellow of Faith and Culture

for Word on Fire Institute. Her writing, speaking and teaching at the Institute focuses on

imaginative and literary apologetics

and on the work of J.R. Tolkien. In addition to writing articles, essays and poems, she travels around

internationally as a guest speaker. She is also a visiting professor of apologetics at Houston

Baptist University, and she's written a number of books. Her memoir describing her conversion

to Christianity, not God's type, the book which we discussed on her previous appearance, Tolkien's

modern reading, Middle Earth Beyond the Middle Ages, as well as the book which we'll be discussing

today, apologetics and the Christian imagination, an integrated approach to defending the faith.
