Dr. Humphrey is the William F. Orr Professor Emerita of New Testament at Pittsburgh Theological Semery and a member of St. Nicholas Parish in Pittsburgh.

She earned her doctorate from McGill University, Montreal, for which she received the Governor General's gold medal, and lectured at several Canadian universities before taking her position in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Humphrey has been married to her husband, Chris, for 46 years.
