Good morning, everyone. Pines with Jack is your favorite weekly C.S. Louis podcast where three friends, Andrew, David, and myself, break down and discuss the works of C.S. Lewis. This season, we're talking about love, slowly and deliberately, working our way through the four loves. The book where Lewis writes about affection, friendship, romance, and charity. But first, it has been a bit since we have recorded

together, gentlemen, how are you all doing? Andrew, how about you start? You've been the busiest of all

of us. I've been quite busy. Thanks for asking.

Well, in the new year, thanks for God. I traveled up to Virginia during that marvelous snowstorm

and took my canonical or ordination exams for two-hour essays. And then came home, celebrated my fifth

anniversary with Kristen. It's the Wood

anniversary, so I got her a wooden bookmark of Jane Austen and then a really nice set of the

novels. Because paper comes from wood, right? It does. She got me a beautiful ashtray made out of

wood for a pipe with a friend.

And then flew out to Texas to face my oral exams, find out how I had done with my essays,

and met with the Standing Committee and the Commission on Ministry for my final interviews,

and all of those went swimmingly, thanks to many prayers from folks. And so I should be getting a letter

soon saying that I am qualified to be ordained a deacon on June 25th. So busy, busy, busy.

Also finished an article for the Paracaris Journal. I did an article on Lewis and autobiography,

which is great fun. I got grades back, and so almost all of my

grades have come in, so all A's so far, yay. Well done. I got one A minus in all a seminary so far. I'm
