Pints with Jack is your weekly CS Lois podcast, where Matt, Andrew and I break down and discuss

of CS Lewis. This season we're eavesdropping on the correspondence of a senior dean, Screw Tape,

as he explains how to tempt a patient, a human assigned to be tempted by Screwtape's nephew,

Wormwood. Each week will be considering a different letter, untwisting Screwtape's hellish

logic and forming a battle plan for our own

spiritual lives. And today I'm joined by guest co-host, a man who appeared on an after-hours episode

last season, where he unpacked the apparent disagreement between C.S. Lewis and St. Augustine

on the nature of love. Dr. Love himself, Dr. Jason Lapoyavi. And for those of you who have only been listening since the start of this season, Dr. Lappoyaville, Dr. Love himself, Dr. Jason Lapoyavi.

And for those of you who have only been listening since the start of this season,

Dr. Lapoyavi was born to a Canadian mother and a Finnish father.

He studied theology and philosophy at the University of Helsinki.

His master's thesis focused on the theology of the body and sexuality by Pope John Paul II and was published as the first introduction to the subject in Finnish.

As a visiting Defield candidate at Oriel College, Oxford, he served as the president of the Oxford

University's C.S. Lewis Society from 2012 to 2013. And after marrying his wife, Issa in 2013,

he was appointed the junior research fellow in theology at St. Bennett's Hall.

He's also worked as a scholar in residence at Regent College in Vancouver,

assistant professor to religious studies at Thornlow University in Ontario, and his doctoral dissertation,
