the works of C.S. Lewis.

We are now in our final weeks of season four, and today is the start

of Music Week on Pints with Jack. Today I have Andrew Lazar with me, and together we're talking

to David Radford, who, together with his wife, Leisha, form the band The Grey Havens.

So in case you've been living under a rock, the Grey Havens are an American Christian

folk pop husband and wife duo, David and Leisha Radford from Crystal Lake, Illinois. They started

their musical recording careers in 2012, and on October 8th, they'll be releasing their new

album, The Blue Flower, inspired by the work of C.S. Lewis, in particular, his spiritual autobiography surprised by joy.

They've also been featured prominently on The Rabbit Room and many other places.

And David, I just have to say, I love this album.

Yeah, David, welcome to Pints for Jack. Thank you guys so much for

having me. I think this is the first time we've actually had a musician on Pints for Jack. And when we

actually started this season, I said to my fellow co-host that I wanted to do some music-related episodes.

And I think this is the perfect way to begin discussing your upcoming album,

The Blue Flower. And when I heard that you were doing this, I begged to be allowed on as long as

you did all the work, David. And so, which is not very different than anything else. So I'm thrilled

to be here. As our listeners know, back in the late 80s, early 90s, I spent a few years in

Nashville, Tennessee. I've worked with Phil Keggi, who first introduced me to the work of C.S. Lewis.
