This year, we want to spend a few minutes with you every day walking through our study Christ and all of Scripture.

0:09.0

Each week we will dive deeply into two passages of Scripture, one from the Old Testament and one from the New,

0:15.0

seeing how they connect and point to Jesus.

0:17.0

Whether you are doing the study yourself or just following along with us here, we are

0:21.7

hopeful that through studying these passages each week, you will see how Christ is not only present

0:26.6

throughout the entire biblical story, but the center of it. Hi, friends. Welcome back to You're in the

0:33.2

Bible. My name is Alexa, and I'm here with my co-host, Beth. Hi, everyone. So today, we are moving our discussion to the New Testament passage for the week, which is Mark 1045. And I have to say, I actually laughed out loud when I turned the page of my study and saw how short this passage is compared to the Old Testament passage that we read this week. 1:17.2

title that Jesus uses to refer to himself. And then I also highlighted ransom, since we know that

1:22.5

Jesus paid our ransom in order to bring us back to God after we had gone to Shrey.

1:26.8

That's great. It definitely is tough to look at the phrases that point to Christ without wanting

1:31.0

to unpack them. Is there anything else that you want to share? Yeah, I don't want to say too

1:35.9

much else because we are going to talk about this in much more detail tomorrow, but I will

1:40.1

draw attention to the second to last prompt, which asked us to notice the difference in how the

1:45.4

son of man did and did not come. And so we see that he did not come to be served, but rather he

1:51.8

came to serve. And so obviously, we can already see the connections to the servant song in Isaiah,

1:57.8

but I will stop there for today. Well, that makes me excited to talk more about
