0:31.8	Hey friends, welcome back to a year in the Bible. My name is Alexa and I'm here with my co-host
0:36.4	Beth. Hi, everyone. This week we're going to be discussing Isaiah 42, 6 through 7 and Isaiah 496,
0:44.0	as well as John 812. And we're going to be learning that Jesus is God's promised servant
0:50.1	who brings light to the nations. Yes. And today we're going to be talking about the annotation
0:54.8	day on Isaiah 42, 6 through 7 and Isaiah 496. So, Beth, could you read those passages for us?
1:01.1	Of course. I am the Lord. I have called you for a righteous purpose, and I will hold you by your
1:07.0	hand, I will watch over you, and I will appoint you to be a covenant for the people and
1:11.9	alight to the nations in order to open blind eyes to bring out prisoners from the dungeon
1:17.3	and those sitting in darkness from the prison house. And then Isaiah 496 says, he says,
1:23.3	it is not enough for you to be my servant raising up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protected
1:28.4	ones of Israel. I will also make you a light for the nations to be my salvation to the ends of
1:34.0	the earth. So Alexa, how did this annotation day go for you? Yeah, I really enjoyed annotating
1:39.1	these passages. I particularly enjoyed considering the promises made in these passages.
1:44.9	In Isaiah 42, 6 through 7, God promises the person who he is speaking to that he will hold his hand, watch over him, and appoint him to be a covenant for the people and a light to the nations.
1:57.0	And in Isaiah 3.9.6, God promises this person again that he will make them a light for the nations, adding that they will be his salvation to the ends of the earth.
