0:33.2	episode of a year in the Bible. My name is Alexa, and I'm joined by my co-host for this week, Antonisha.
0:38.4	Hey, friends. Welcome back. Today, we are going to go deeper into the passage we annotated yesterday,
0:43.4	Psalm 110, verse 4. So to start us off, Alexa, can you share with us where this passage fits into the story of
0:50.0	scripture? Yeah, we've been looking at the Psalms for the past few weeks now. And so we've
0:54.7	talked about how the Psalms were written over the course of Israel's history and essentially
0:59.4	served as a songbook for the Israelites. The Psalms also encouraged the Israelites to hope in
1:04.5	God's promises, one of those promises being the promised Messiah. And so we looked at Psalm 110.1
1:10.4	last week and Antenisha helped us see that
1:12.9	this Psalm is a royal Psalm written by King David that is pointing us toward the Messiah. So Psalm 110.4
1:20.7	helps us see something else about this, this promised king. He's not only going to be a king. He's
1:27.3	going to be a priest.
1:30.6	Yeah, it says that he's going to be a priest according to the pattern of Mokizadec.
1:35.8	Alexa, can you tell us who Mokizadec is and why God would bring him up here in this passage?
1:40.6	Yeah, that's a good question. We learn about McKesledek in Genesis 14, 18 to 20,
1:45.5	and he's not only the king of Salem, but he's also described as a priest of God most high.
