Welcome to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace.

0:03.0

This year, we want to spend a few minutes with you every day walking through our study, Christ and all of Scripture.

0:09.0

Each week we will dive deeply into two passages of Scripture, one from the Old Testament and one from the New,

0:15.0

seeing how they connect and point to Jesus.

0:17.0

Whether you are doing the study yourself or just following along with us here, we are hopeful

0:22.0

that through studying these passages each week, you will see how Christ is not only present

0:26.6

throughout the entire biblical story, but the center of it. Everyone, welcome back to this new

0:33.5

1:12.3

were in serious rebellion. God uses Isaiah to speak to his people, particularly Judah, to warn them

1:20.2

of the consequences for their rebellion if they don't repent. But God also uses Isaiah to speak promises

1:26.4

to his people, promising them hope and restoration.

1:30.5

And one way he does this is by speaking about a servant that he is going to send who was going to provide this restoration.

1:37.5

So Isaiah 53 is part of a collection of chapters that speaks about this servant.

1:43.1

Yeah, that's right. And it's important to note that scholars

1:45.1

actually refer to the servant as the suffering servant. His life is really far from glamorous.
