And when I tried to shut the door on him, he pushed it open and tried to shove his

way in. And so I ended up screaming really loudly, help, help, and no one came

out to help. I'm pretty sure there were people in their apartments, but no one I

guess wanted to get involved.

And I'm Jake Deptula. On today's episode of Strictly Stocking, we're speaking with Renee,

who met her stalker during college.

They were acquaintances and she'd mentioned to him that the apartment across from hers was

vacant. He moved in immediately and she often found him staring at her intensely.

When Renee started seeing someone, her stalker became angry and told her the guy was using

her and also seeing other people.

Things escalated when he changed his class schedule to match hers, knocked on her door

constantly, yelled outside her door when he knew she was home and followed her when

she left her apartment.

One night Renee called campus security when he wouldn't leave her alone, but they said

they couldn't do anything because she didn't know her restraining order. Renee, thank you

What was life like for you growing up?

I spent the first part of my life in central Texas, then moved to North Carolina when I

was 12 and I've been here ever since.
