I thought I texted my mom to call 911, but apparently what I texted was gibberish and didn't make any sense whatsoever.

And when I started to kind of come out of it, I looked at him and I said, you're poisoning me.

And he just looked at me and smiled the most scary smile that you could ever imagine.

I don't remember the rest of the night. I think I passed out.

He seemed nice, but she did notice red flags like glove bombing, moving too fast, control issues, and jealousy.

After he moved in, Melody noticed that he knew details of her private phone conversations and knew where she went throughout the day.

He often accused her of cheating, showed up at her job, and the relationship became toxic and abusive.

Melody tried to kick him out of her house, but he threatened her and wouldn't leave.

After she got the police involved, Melody was the one to leave, and she also learned about his past stalking and abusive behaviors.

What do you want us to talk about growing up?

I grew up in a pretty small town in New Jersey. My grade school was 60 kids from kindergarten to eighth grade, so very small town.

My parents kind of had a toxic relationship, so I think that's what kind of molded me.

But otherwise I had a pretty good childhood.

What was life like after high school for you?

After high school, I became a parent pretty young, so I worked a lot and just raising my young child. I was a single mom, so it was a lot of work and a lot of stress.

But it was great. We pretty much grew up together.

How old were you when you had your first child?

20.
