So today we're talking about the two kingdoms that are at war with each other. Yes. Did I over-emphasize that, or is that right? No, you're exactly right. So back to Matthew 2 because we're back in the same vein as last week.

Matthew 2, because we're back in the same vein as last week. Matthew 2, I told you to highlight a few insights along the way as it pertained to King Herod. This passage from, let me give a broad stroke here. Let me just back up 30,000 foot. Well, as you're backing up, don't back going to the mic. Can't hear anything. Let's back up. Let me give you the broad stroke here. This paddle is, this paddle, this is thinking about otters again. This passage is way bigger than just gifts to Jesus on, you know, which we really think Christmas morning, which is not. We learned it was a year or two later.

This is bigger than that.

What Matthew is establishing here is there's a battle that's happening and you don't even

know about it.

There's a battle of kingdoms, two kingdoms going to go at it.

And this is the battle for our whole life.

In fact, everything we do is the question, what kingdom will we live in? Will we live in the kingdom of power and pride and selfishness

and sin and Satan? Are we going to live in the kingdom of peace and humility and shalom and Jesus?

And the question is, which one?

Now, how do I have these two kingdoms coming together?

You have two kings.

A kingdom has to have a king, both of them.

On one side, you have King Herod.

On the other side, you have what?

King Jesus.

King Jesus.

Now, watch this.

We read this last week, but I want to read it again. I want you to just go through candy and read one through three now, just quickly. Okay. After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod. What are so many times you hear the word king? Number one, King Herod. Keep going. Wise men from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, where is he who has been born king of the Jews? Number two. We saw his star at its rising and have come to worship him. When King Herod... Number three. Heard heard this, he was deeply disturbed. Okay, that's it. That's all we need. Okay. So we have in three lines, three mentions of the word king. So right away, Matthew's cluing us.
