I'm also the host of this, the third season of American Prodigies.

The first season of American Prodigy was about Freddie Yadou.

The second season was about Ken Griffey, Jr.

This season, we're taking you inside the world of women's artistic gymnastics and unpacking

what it means to be a black girl in the sport.

From the get-go, I should tell you that this season is not American Prodigy, but rather

American Prodigies.

And that's because we're spending the entire season looking at different experiences

of black girls in gymnastics.

I thought I'd kick off the new season by sharing a conversation I had with my Burn It All

Down co-host, Jessica Luther.

Let me talk about what you can look forward to throughout this season.

Can you tell me, I want to get into specifics in a second, but like, you pitched this.

This was your idea.

Why did you want to do this topic on this series?

Yeah, I mean, I think that I'm going to bring you into it and give you credit where

it should absolutely go and not let you write yourself out of this narrative, too, because

it really was this kind of group thing.

So way back, actually, a year ago, we talked about doing American Prodigy centered on

Gabby Douglas, and we had like a lot of ideas there and a lot of themes that we're interested
