0:41.4	We are nearing the end of the book of Matthew and it has been such a joy to see Jesus
0:46.0	and behold him on the pages of scripture. Chapter 26 is a long chapter with tons of
0:52.0	information so we better get going.
0:54.8	The chapter opens with the plot to kill Jesus.
0:57.6	We see the chief priest here as the ones that are cold and calculated in their plan to destroy Jesus. These religious leaders
1:05.5	cared more about their position than they did about the truth. They were seeking
1:09.8	after power and would do whatever it took to get people on their side. The words of these conniving
1:16.4	religious leaders stand in sharp contrast to the next scene where Jesus is anointed
1:21.6	at Bethany.
1:23.0	Though Matthew doesn't tell us who the woman is that anoint Jesus,
1:28.0	the Book of John tells us that this is Mary of Bethany,
1:32.0	Martha and Lazarus's sister. Mary is one of my favorite
1:35.8	biblical characters because in every scene that she is named in scripture she is
