0:32.1	This year we are studying the entire New Testament chapter by chapter.

1:00.9	We are inching closer to the climax of the Gospels in the death and resurrection of Jesus.
1:06.0	Today we cover the final parables in the book of Matthew, but we will see other parables in some of the other gospel accounts. The first
1:13.8	parable today is the parable of the ten virgins. In this parable we see that
1:18.5	the kingdom of heaven is likened to ten young women waiting for a wedding feast to take place.
1:24.6	We are introduced to these women as the wise and the foolish women.
1:28.4	Because the wedding feast would happen in the evening in this
1:35.0	evening in this culture, it did not necessarily start at a set time.
1:36.0	We see her the wise virgins take their lamps as well as extra oil,
1:40.0	but the foolish women did not have this foresight.
1:43.6	They took their lamps but no extra oil.
