My name is Katie and I'm one of your co-host here on a year in the Bible podcast and today we are going to be in Mark 2. Yesterday we looked at

the first chapter of Mark's Gospel where we saw Jesus baptism,

his temptation in the wilderness and the beginning of his ministry.

We also saw crowds be stunned by Jesus' authority, both in his teaching and in healing people.

Today we will see Jesus' authority and his popularity with the crowds, but we will also see another group and how they respond

fans, who inevitably shows up.

Well, now we are introduced to Jesus's critics

We'll look at four of those controversies today and we'll cover the fifth one tomorrow

while we're looking at Mark 3. The first controversy has to do with Jesus healing a paralyzed man.

And this creates a problem for four men who are trying to bring a paralyzed friend to Jesus.
