| 0:40.6 | into the gospel of Mark. It's widely believed that Mark was the earliest of the four gospels |
| 0:46.6 | written and that Mark was writing to Christians in Rome who are beginning to face persecutions |

| 0:59.7 | This gospel, therefore, is Mark's way of encouraging these believers to persevere. |
