0:57.4	that means for our everyday lives. Let's dig in to John 2. This chapter is exciting because we get
1:04.7	an account of Jesus' first public miracle, the turning of water into wine at the wedding in Cana. Jesus and his disciples are
1:14.2	invited to a wedding and Jesus' mom is also in attendance. Wedding festivities in the Jewish culture
1:20.5	are a big celebration, typically lasting about a week at a time. Except at this particular wedding,
1:27.0	there was one big problem.
1:29.4	The wine was running out, the ultimate party fowl for the first century wedding. The groom was
1:34.9	expected to provide enough wine for celebrations to continue throughout the week, and a lack of
1:40.2	wine would bring disgrace and embarrassment to the groom in his family. And so Mary, Jesus'
1:46.4	mother approaches Jesus. See, she knows what the Pharisees will soon refuse to believe. Mary is
1:53.6	ready for the world to know what she has known since Jesus' birth, and ever since the angel Gabriel
1:59.7	told her that she would experience a divine
2:02.6	conception. Jesus is more than a man. He is God's only son, the Messiah. Jesus was capable of doing
