and today we continue in the Book of James.

the information in the show notes. Chapter 4 opens with a striking question. What is it that causes

war and fights? In other words, what is it that causes problems in our lives? This question

is certainly one that will make us all think, but James gets straight

to the point. Though we may be tempted to list all the people who irritate us and causes problems,

James says that the problem is actually us. Our own passions lead to the brokenness in our lives

and in the world.

The selfish desires of our own hearts actually hurts us.

These passions are idols.

We've gotten things all mixed up in our hearts.

We elevate people and things to the place of God in our lives, and the results are always tragic.
