0:29.3	and today we continue in the Book of James.
0:31.9	As a reminder, I'm using the Behold Studies from the Daily Grace Co,

0:38.1	the information in the show notes. Chapter 4 opens with a striking question. What is it that causes
0:45.2	war and fights? In other words, what is it that causes problems in our lives? This question
0:52.3	is certainly one that will make us all think, but James gets straight
0:56.8	to the point. Though we may be tempted to list all the people who irritate us and causes problems,
1:03.4	James says that the problem is actually us. Our own passions lead to the brokenness in our lives
1:10.7	and in the world.
1:12.2	The selfish desires of our own hearts actually hurts us.
1:17.0	These passions are idols.
1:19.3	We've gotten things all mixed up in our hearts.
1:22.2	We elevate people and things to the place of God in our lives, and the results are always tragic.
1:29.0	James uses some shocking language again.
1:32.4	He talks about how we desire and do not have, and so we murder and covet.
