0:29.8	Today we begin the letter to the Ephesians.

0:41.4	in the show notes. The book of Ephesions is a letter written by the Apostle Paul to the church in the
0:47.3	city of Ephesus. Ephesus was a port city and was one of the top five largest cities in the world at the time that this letter was written.
0:55.5	This beloved letter was written by Paul while he was in prison and you can hear it in his love and care for the Ephesian Church. Ephesus was known to be a city of wickedness, so it is almost
1:06.5	striking to read the words to the faithful saints in Christ Jesus at Ephesus.
1:12.8	Paul begins with some of the most beautiful words in scripture.
1:16.6	Ephesians 1 contains one of the longest sentences in the Bible
1:20.4	and it is a stunning declaration of the gospel.
1:24.3	Paul begins with this beautiful blessing and immediately we are reminded that we praise
1:29.4	or bless God because we are blessed in Jesus. Throughout this letter and all of Paul's
1:35.1	writings we see the theme of Union with Christ. This means that we are in Jesus
1:41.3	and he is in us.
1:43.6	This theme is referenced 12 times just in verses 3 through 12.
