And I'm Stephanie Harlow.

And today we bring a heartbreaking and disturbing update in the case of seven-month-old Emmanuel Haro. His parents, Jake and Rebecca, have now been charged with felony murder and filing a false police report as authorities believe their story of abduction was fabricated. Now, while the search for Emmanuel's body continues, the couple remains in custody

denying any wrongdoing, even as investigators pieced together a grim and mounting web

of evidence. And this was a case that we covered just last week on Crime Weekly News. It was very

fresh. It was very new. And although we had some suspicions and we were pointing

out some things in the interview that didn't necessarily sit well with us, we were trying to give

the benefit of the doubt because obviously this could have been a very traumatic situation for the

horrors. But now, right after, basically, right after we finished that episode and it went out,

these developments came pretty rapidly and it's unfolding more every day. I see on the news

every day there's something new with this case. Yeah, so I want to go through the timeline again

quickly. Yes. So this was August 14, 2025, when Emmanuel's mother, Rebecca Harrow, reported that she was

changing her son's diaper outside a big five sporting goods store in Yucaypa.

She was attacked by an unknown assailant.

Remember, the person walked up behind her, Ola, and then she was rendered in unconscious.

And then she woke up, Her son Emmanuel was missing.

She alleged that he had been kidnapped. Now, in August 15th and 16th, law enforcement launched a

missing person investigation. They initiated searches with some scent tracking dogs. We talked about

this no Amber Alert was issued due to the lack of identifiable suspect description or vehicle description.

And then officials did note the inconsistencies in the mother's story.

In media interviews, both parents pleaded publicly for Emmanuel's return, their emotional

demeanor and the things they were saying and kind of how they were acting did seem off
