| 0:28.0 | Coming from the UK, an incredible young woman who suffered since she was 14 years old with different TMS equivalents, having no idea of course that anything was TMS. |
| 0:41.0 | And in the midst of her suffering went to get not only her bachelor's but her master's in biology at Oxford. |
| 0:49.0 | So through all of these struggles with things like chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia and pots, she was able to get her master's degree in biology and unfortunately and fortunately in the end, but unfortunately at the beginning it really barred her from being able to accept that there could be a mind body component to her suffering. |
| 1:16.0 | And so it's just a really fascinating conversation about her symptoms and ultimately her worst symptom, which was her bladder pain and her interstitial stysitis. |
| 1:25.0 | But also the internal struggle between the way we have been raised and the soil within which we have been fertilized, which is the Western medical model and the certainty that a problem that feels so physical must be structural. |
| 1:45.0 | And then the opening to the fact that it does not mean that the pain is in your head when you open yourself to mind body medicine indeed, it means you are embracing the neuroscience and the brain science of the fact that sometimes we feel things in our hearts and sometimes we feel things in our bodies and they are interchangeable and that when you quote feel things in your heart and it's emotional. |
| 2:08.0 | It is the number one reason that people are stressed and kicked into fight or flight and that is what causes the physical symptoms to fire. |
| 2:15.0 | So we're able to have just a really great conversation about that and she's so knowledgeable and so amazing in the way she describes her journey that I really think it will help you on yours. |
