Summary

Over a year after three Kansas City Chiefs fans—Ricky Johnson Jr., David Harrington, and Clayton McGeeney—were found frozen in a friend's backyard, authorities have arrested two men in connection with their deaths. Jordan Willis, the homeowner and longtime friend of the victims, along with Ivory Carson, faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and delivery of controlled substances. Investigators allege that Carson supplied cocaine laced with fentanyl, leading to the tragic overdoses. DNA evidence reportedly links both men to the drugs found at the scene. In this episode, we delve into the details of the case, the evidence presented, and the questions that remain unanswered. We're coming to CrimeCon Denver! Hey, everyone back to Crime Weekly News. I'm Derek Lavasser. And I'm Stephanie Harlow.

0:18.9

And as you can see from the headline of this episode,

0:21.1

we're going to be covering a case update. This was a case we covered a long time ago when it first

0:26.3

came up. It was the mysterious deaths of three individuals. We're going to talk about them in a second.

0:31.0

But basically, we left the Crime Weekly News update, not knowing what happened. We had speculated

0:36.3

about some potential scenarios. But before we

0:39.2

get into that, let me give you a little recap. In January of 2024, three Kansas City Chiefs fans,

0:44.9

Clayton McGee, 36, David Harrington, 37, and Ricky Johnson, 38 were found deceased in the backyard

0:51.7

of their friend Jordan Willis's Kansas City, Missouri home.

0:54.9

The group had gathered on January 7, 2024 to watch the Chiefs game, and their bodies were

0:59.6

discovered two days later by McKinney's fiancee after concerns arose as the men failed to return home.

1:06.3

So we had talked about this case. We talked about Jordan Willis and how we thought there may be more

1:12.3

to the story. How could these three individuals die and hit the backyard? It was cold. There was

1:17.9

snow, whatever. But how could this all happen and him have no clue for days? What transpired? Well,

1:23.4

apparently there's a major update. There's been arrests. And we weren't too far off, but Stephanie's going to give you the details.

1:30.5

Yeah.

1:30.8

So autopsies did determine that all three men died from combined fentanyl and cocaine toxicity.

1:38.6

And following a 14-month investigation, Jordan Willis, who was the homeowner, or at least he was renting the

1:45.1

home, and another man that we have not talked about before, Ivory Carson, they were charged

1:50.1

with three counts of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of delivery of a controlled

1:55.4

substance. And each charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

2:02.1

So kind of to bring it all around where they're getting this from, as I said, we haven't heard of this ivory Carson person before.
