0:34.4	Louise Pete had just been released after serving 18 years
0:37.8	for the murder of her former employer and lover, Jacob Charles Denton.

0:44.8	believing that she had been truly reformed during her time
0:47.5	into Hatchapoe Women's Prison.
0:49.8	Others felt the need to warn the Pearl Board that
0:52.3	Pete's long history of criminal acts and violence
0:55.0	should make her ineligible to walk free among the public.
0:58.7	But on April 11, 1939, at the age of 58,
1:02.8	Louise Pete walked out of prison to begin her new life.

1:09.5	because it seemed she kept her nose clean for a while.
