It was every day, five days a week knowing he's going to be there watching me and following

me and that's unnerving. Even if he's not talking to me or you know walking up to me or

you know physically harming me obviously just having someone follow you everywhere and

not knowing okay when's the day that either he's going to take it to the next level or he's

going to try talking to me or or do something you know that's really unnerving.

I'm Jamie Beebe and I'm Jake Duptula. On today's episode we're strictly stalking or speaking

with Jill who was stalked by a classmate. In junior high school Jill met an older foreign

exchange student who made her uncomfortable when he was around. He would constantly stand

in front of her locker when she needed to use it he would move aside but continue to

stare at her without speaking. His behavior escalated and he started following her at school

waiting outside the bathroom door offering gifts and always watching her. Jill told her

counselor that the exchange student was following her and found out that he had been stalking

other students as well. The counselor told Jill to try to be sympathetic because of the

cultural differences and perhaps that type of behavior was normal there. The counselor

suggested Jill try to befriend her stalker and gave him the same advice. When her stalker

approached her again she told him to leave her alone but that only escalated his stalking

behavior. He moved his locker across from hers and continued to approach her giving her

gifts. When Jill's mother found out what was happening she called the school who again

tried to defend the stalker but her mother threatened to call the police. Her threats
