I was so scared. I'd never been to court before. I didn't know what to expect. I didn't really

still at this point hadn't thought about what had happened. It'd been so much protocol,

so many letters, so many evidence given, but I didn't really, but I was scared. I remember

being scared in his defence lawyer outside the courtroom in the Usher in bit. He said to

me, don't worry, I'm not going to defend him. Even when he said that, I was like, okay, but when

the policeman, my policeman said to me, don't look at him, keep you on the judge the whole time.

I think that game you're a bit strange then. I was like, okay, I can do this.

Nicola, who was stalked by a former coworker, a turned boyfriend. Nicola's life was turned up

say down when she left an abusive partner and had to move into a woman's shelter to stay safe.

While rebuilding her life and staying at the shelter, she noticed her coworker lingering around

outside of work in places she didn't normally see him. They became friends and started dating,

but when Nicola wanted to start a family with him, he pulled away so she ended the relationship.

When Nicola moved out of the shelter, she noticed her ex following her. He also began calling and

texting her non-stop. Things escalated when he showed up at her house at all hours and threatened

her friends. She finally confided in other coworkers and they advised her to call the police.

With the help of law enforcement, Nicola was able to take her case to trial and brought her

tell us a little bit about where you grew up? I grew up in Hertfordshire, so it's a small town.

My mum and dad were in the military and we moved from Scotland down south when I was two.

I lived there till I was like 13 and we moved out of town and I went to university in Cornwall.
