Yeah, I mean, I think something interesting that we've noticed and Lola probably knew this long before the podcast

I didn't was that people are like, join cults when they're going through a big change in their life if they weren't raised or in it or something like that, you know, if something big happens, it could be something good even.

And just thinking out loud about it right now, I'm wondering if that's something that could happen with suckers as well.

While you're like in a new position, you let somebody kind of new into your life, whatever, and then all of a sudden you have your own cult, are you up a stalker?

On today's episode of Strictly Stonging, we're chatting with cult survivors in true crime podcast hosts, Lola Blonk and Megan Elizabeth.

As a child, Lola and her mother felt prey to a charismatic prophet who turned out to be a cult leader.

And Megan was raised in a high control Christian group known as the two by twos, aka the truth or the way.

Together, Lola and Megan co-host the podcast Trust Me, cults, extreme belief and manipulation, where they share their experience and interview other survivors.

Today, they're joining us to share their own stalking experiences, discuss cult leaders who stalk and reveal the similarities between cult leaders and stalkers.

So Lola, why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself growing up?

So I grew up just a regular Mormon ventraliquist girl.

I performed ventraliquism with my mom, but we were just mainstream Mormons.

We went to church every week, you know, the whole deal. And after my parents got divorced, my mom actually ended up getting excommunicated from the church for a premarital sex situation, which, that's a don't get me started on that.

But so eventually it took her a long time to repent and she finally got back into the church and went to a Mormon singles dance and she meets this guy there.

And to actually preface this by saying she's been having dreams about this man who feels very meaningful to her at this point.

And in Mormonism, dreams are very important. Signs from God are very important.

It's, you know, you pray that you'll get a sign that you'll, that something is right and then you'll receive it in the form of a dream or whatever.

And so she'd been dreaming about this man and she told me that she'd been having these dreams about this man that she thought she was meant to meet.
