0:27.8	walking through First Peter with you in this year-long study of the New Testament. Today, we're in
0:33.4	1st Peter 3, and as always, I'm using to behold studies from the Daily Grace Co, and you can
0:38.3	find the information in the show notes. Today, Peter continues instructing the church in submission
0:44.1	to God, just as he did in chapter 2. But we must remember that Peter gives these instructions
0:49.2	after worshiping Christ for who he is and what he has done for us. In First Peter, we worship Christ as a
0:55.9	spotless lamb for known before the foundation of the world and revealed for us. In Christ, we believe in
1:01.9	the God who raised him from the dead and gave him glory. Jesus teaches us about the steadfast love of God,
1:08.0	and then in First Peter, too, we worship Jesus as our cornerstone he is the
1:13.1	firm foundation on which our faith is built if indeed we build our lives upon Christ and place our
1:18.5	faith in him peter reminds his audience in us today that we are a royal priesthood a holy nation
1:24.4	a people for god's own possession once we were were not a people, now we are God's
1:29.8	people. From Peter's magnification of Christ, we can taste and see that the Lord is good. We can live
1:36.1	in light of all we've been given in Christ. We can submit to God in love and reverence, and therefore
1:41.8	we can submit to those around us in the hope that
1:44.8	they will see our good works and give glory to God.
1:48.3	We are called to make the gospel attractive to those around us by submitting to them
1:53.5	in honor and living admirable, blameless lives.
1:57.2	Today, Peter has a few words for both wives and husbands.
