0:44.7	Today, we've got some really good questions on the soul and also a real, real tricky one,
0:52.5	on the genealogies of Jesus. Not the part of the Bible,
0:57.8	most people spend a lot of time, you know, going over the genealogies, but there is some good
1:02.4	stuff here. Let's delve Australian, Tom. Let's delve straight in. We've got a question
1:08.3	from Shane Stafford in New York in the United States, and this is about
1:15.8	biblical anthropology, what it means to be a human being, comparing substance dualism versus
1:22.9	Christian materialism. In other words, what is the soul? Do we have a soul or is it all metaphorical?
1:30.3	And this is what Shane asks. Do you believe the Bible supports the idea of a soul, or do you align
1:38.5	more with the view that humans are entirely physical beings as urged by thinkers like Peter Van Inwagon.
1:47.3	And I can add here a lot more other people.
1:49.4	Joel Green is a biblical scholar who's done actually done some work in neuroscience.
1:55.2	And in light of that, gone and looked at some language of the soul.
2:00.4	And he argues it's more metaphorical and all
2:04.3	human functions and processes are pretty much material and bodily. So this is quite a point of
2:12.6	discussion when it comes to biblical anthropology and what do we do with the language of the soul?
