Summary

Tom Wright and Dr. Mike Bird dive into deep theological questions in this episode, tackling Inclusion Theology, Universalism, Predestination, and the question of Free Will. 💡 Is salvation universally available? Does predestination mean some are excluded? How do free will and God’s purposes coexist? Tom and Mike unpack these complex questions, shedding light on biblical perspectives that emphasize transformation, assurance, and the church’s role in reflecting God’s image in the world. Key themes in today's episode: Why determinism vs. free will is often a misleading debate. How predestination is about God’s purpose, not exclusion. The Holy Spirit’s role in salvation and human responsibility. Why the New Testament presents salvation as both universal and personal. The Biblical view of the soul vs. Platonic philosophy. 🎧 If you’ve ever wrestled with questions about election, inclusion, or what it means to be human in God’s plan, this episode offers fresh insights to challenge and encourage your faith. 👉 To ask your question go to: askntwright.com #AskNTWrightAnything #predestination #freewill #christiantheology #holyspirit #salvation FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDA: Twitter: https://twitter.com/unbelievablefe Facebook: / https://facebook.com/premierunbelievable Instagram: / https://instagram.com/premierunbelievable Tik Tok: / https://tiktok.com/@premier.unbelievable Learn more about your ad choices. I've just finished a tour of Turkey and Greece, traveling some of the ancient Bible lands, looking at Ephesus, Athens, Corinth. It was fantastic. It was good. Some of these places I've never been to. And it's a place which left me with a lot of questions about what was it like to worship in Ephesus. What was it like for the Apostle Paul to go, you know, walk around Galatia, Pasadian Antioch,

and all those cities?

1:16.2

And so it was a great thing.

But we've got some people who've got some questions for us, Tom.

1:21.6

The first question comes from Kelly Anderson from St. Charles, Illinois.

1:26.7

And this is about universalism and inclusion.

1:31.5

And here's Kelly's question. Could you explore the concept of inclusion theology, where the cross

1:39.5

resets human destiny towards salvation for all with free will allowing rejection of this gift.

1:47.8

This view is somewhat that represented in CSS Lewis's writing, such as The Last Battle and the Great Divorce.

1:54.3

Does this perspective align with biblical teaching?

1:57.9

Tom, what's your thoughts on that?

1:59.7

Oh my, oh my.

2:05.6

These are huge questions, and we get muddled here because the the philosophical question of determinism and free will, which is a very old question the

philosophers have been discussing for centuries, that is not the same as the Christian question
