Hey, friends, welcome back to the podcast. Tiffany here, and today we come to one of the most intriguing books on our journey.

Song of Songs, or Song of Solomon, as it's also known, is a book that probably leaves us

scratching our head, confused about its purpose in scripture, and possibly a little

embarrassed over such intimate language. But as we've done with other difficult books in the

Bible, we are going to roll up our sleeves

and do the hard work to understand what God is teaching us throughout this short book.

Today, we will spend all of our time focusing on the context of Song of Songs.

We need to have an understanding of its structure and overarching purpose before we can ever study

and attempt to understand the verses themselves. Then tomorrow, we will look at the content of

all eight chapters and explain in more detail some of these intriguing passages, descriptions,

and word choices.

As we begin, I do want to mention that while I won't be using any explicit language to

discuss the intimacy found in this book, it really isn't an episode for kiddos.

So if you do listen with kids around, I just want to give you a heads up so that you can

plan accordingly today and tomorrow. So with all that, let's take a look at the context of Song

of Songs. We are told in verse one that the author of this song is Solomon. After our time in
