This book has given us a glimpse of the downward spiral of sin when we choose what is best in

our own eyes instead of following God's statutes and ordinances.

Israel's blatant sin, God's patience, and the need for a perfect and permanent deliverer.

We read a familiar phrase in Judges 191, which says,

In those days, when there was no king in Israel.

This statement wasn't just a reminder that there was no earthly king.

It also serves as a reminder that Israel had rejected God as their king.

They rejected Him by doing what was right in their own eyes.
