0:32.6	This book has given us a glimpse of the downward spiral of sin when we choose what is best in
0:38.4	our own eyes instead of following God's statutes and ordinances.
0:43.8	Our chapters today will continue to highlight the major themes we've seen across this book.
0:50.3	Israel's blatant sin, God's patience, and the need for a perfect and permanent deliverer.
0:58.1	As we study chapters 19 through 21 today, we will face some difficult and gruesome events.

1:12.9	I also want to encourage us to remember that even in the midst of hard and confusing passages,
1:19.4	God is still good and His plan of redemption marches onward.
1:24.7	We read a familiar phrase in Judges 191, which says,
1:29.7	In those days, when there was no king in Israel.
1:34.0	This statement wasn't just a reminder that there was no earthly king.
1:38.0	It also serves as a reminder that Israel had rejected God as their king.
1:43.3	They rejected Him by doing what was right in their own eyes.
1:47.9	We see this in the specific example of a Levite who acquired a concubine.
